The STOFF Nagel Candle Holder, sold as a set of three, is the modular building block of the STOFF Nagel system — solid brass holders that connect, stack, and expand into sculptural compositions.

Originally designed in the 1960s, it has become one of the enduring objects of modern design. Whether displayed on its own or expanded over time, its rounded, almost molecular form brings rhythm and structure to a room.

Each holder stands comfortably on its own, yet it is through their relationships that the composition begins to reveal its character. Every new configuration subtly changes the dialogue between form, light, and space.

Left untreated, solid brass develops a warm patina over time, deepening with use so each set takes on a character of its own. In candlelight, the brass returns a soft golden glow.

This special piece is made of solid brass and will naturally develop a patina over time. Since the candle holder has not been coated, the patina begins as soon as it is produced. This is why your candle holder may have traces of patina even as brand new.

 If you get stains from candles or prefer your brass product to stay shiny, follow these steps:

1. Remove candle drips by placing the product in hot water until wax softens.

2. To remove patina, add citric acid (2 tbsp. to 1 liter) and a drop of detergent.

3. Leave for 10 minutes.

4. Wipe with a soft dry cloth.

5. If it still shows signs of patina, use brass polish and wipe with a dry cloth.
